The records span three countries and six decades. The certificate identifies her as a widow, consistent with the absence of a husband in records from the 1930s onward. Researchers should note that the death certificate&#8217;s informant and their relationship to Kate can reveal previously unknown connections \u2014 particularly valuable for a woman with no children and distant English relatives. The informant was M. C.
