The transcription below makes this record accessible to researchers with Bridges family connections in Washington County, Illinois<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Nancy purchased eighty acres of U.S. land in South 1\/2 of West 1\/2 of North West quarter of Section 25, Township 1 North, Range 2 West.<\/span>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span> The deeded executed in September 1843, transcribed below, shows she sold 40 acres of that parcel.<\/span>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Deed made this twenty second day of September in the year eighteen hundred and forty three between Nancy Bridges of the County of Washington and State of Illinois of the first part and Edwin Bridges son of said Nancy Bridges of the County of Washington and State of Illinois of the second part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty Dollars to her in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged does hereby grant, bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part a certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the counties of Washington and Clinton in the State of Illinois and described as follows: The south half of the west half of the North West quarter of Section number twenty five (25) Township Number one (1) North in Range number two (2) West of the third principal Meridian containing forty acres more or less. Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said party of the second part forever. And the said party of the first part the aforesaid premises unto the said party of the second part against the claim or claims of all persons whomsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Witness whereof the said party of the first part has hereunto set her hand and seal the day and year first above written.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
