I spent the last week in Salt Lake City at the FamilySearch Library. It was a good trip with great people and several very interesting finds, lots of documented negative search results (sometimes those are the best ones), and confirmation that some of my previous finds were on the right track (that’s always good to know).

What was the best find on the trip? I was looking for a husband and wife living on the frontier about ten years before the area became a state. They recorded deeds saying they were later living in Spanish Territory. Although there are sparse records, I apparently looked in the right records because I found them! That was well worth the trip!

I can’t stop raving about the library improvements. The technology is amazing and very thoughtful. Everything is clean, well organized and the helpers are right there when you need them.
